Memories in Super8

Shooting in film is simple and exciting at the same time. The sound of film rolling when we press record makes us aware of the mechanism of the camera. The results are honest to the memories lived: they feel authentic and imperfect. The images feel more real, warm and beautiful.

A roll of Super 8 mm lasts for approximately 3:15 min so each moment we decide to record is precious, but that's why we want to keep them forever, right? A standard price package includes 4 rolls of film (as a reference, for the Mennään Naimisiin video we used 1 roll).

Every Monday at 12 in the morning, our favourite lab takes all the footage and processes it and scans it. Did you know that you can choose the final resolution up to 4K? By default we ask for the 2K scan which is the resolution used to project the movies in the movie theatres. This process takes about a week, and then, the lab send the footage back to us and we can start the edit.

We love hearing about your style and talking about your expectations in the preparation meetings. This way we can make the film you are dreaming of, and find the music and the rhythm for the edit that adapts the best to your special memories.

After we have finished the edit, in a couple of weeks to 1 month, we will deliver you the final result. In the preparation meetings we agree on the length of the film, but by default we deliver:

A shorter teaser that will be perfect to share in social media (30 sec - 1 min).
A longer 3 - 4 min version.

Did you know that we can record your vows and use them as a voice over in the video? We also love using a recording of some member of the family playing or singing a special song. It's your special day and we want you to have the most perfect video to remember it!
